The West Coast of Canada Branch is proud to be the original Canadian branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, with a longstanding tradition of supporting maritime professionals across Canada. The West Coast Branch serves as the head office for the Canada Branch and is known for its vibrant and active community. It hosts a variety of events throughout the year that support professional growth and help maritime professionals connect with each other.

These include regular Lunch and Learn sessions featuring expert guest speakers, as well as social events designed to strengthen connections across the shipping, trading, and logistics sectors. A highlight of the branch’s annual calendar is the annual Dry Bulk & Commodities Conference, a flagship event that draws participants from across the industry to discuss trends, challenges, and opportunities in the dry bulk sector and the maritime industry at large.

Through these initiatives, the West Coast Branch continues to uphold the ICS’s global standards while building a dynamic local maritime network.
